Pakarang Cave (ถ้ำปะการัง), commonly known as Coral Cave, is one of Cheow Lan Lake's most distinctive nature experiences. What makes the journey special is not simply the cave itself, but the sequence of landscapes visitors travel through to reach it.
The adventure begins on the emerald waters of Cheow Lan Lake before continuing on foot through the rainforest. The trail leads toward an inner lake, where the journey changes completely: visitors board a bamboo raft and travel quietly across the water toward the cave.
Inside Pakarang Cave, limestone formations developed into intricate shapes that resemble coral—giving the cave its Thai and English names. Stalactites, stalagmites and other mineral formations create a very different environment from the open lake and rainforest outside.
