Where is Panvaree Resort and how do I get there?

Panvaree Resort is located directly on Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok, surrounded by limestone mountains and tropical rainforest. The resort cannot be reached by road, so all guests must continue by boat from Ratchaprapha Pier, the main departure point for Cheow Lan Lake.The boat journey itself is part of the experience. From the pier, you travel across the lake by longtail boat, gradually leaving the mainland behind and entering a landscape of limestone cliffs, forested shorelines and open water.For our private Panvaree packages, the boat journey, guide and resort stay are arranged as one itinerary. This avoids the need to coordinate separate transfers between the pier, the resort and the different attractions on the lake.If you are arriving from Khao Sok, Surat Thani, Phuket, Krabi or Khao Lak, private road transfers to Ratchaprapha Pier can be arranged separately.

How long is the boat journey from Ratchaprapha Pier to Panvaree Resort?

The journey is approximately 40–45 minutes by longtail boat, depending on boat type, weather, water conditions and the route taken.Cheow Lan Lake is much larger than it appears in photographs, so floating resorts are located at very different distances from the pier. Panvaree is positioned far enough into the lake to feel immersed in the natural landscape while still being within practical boat reach of several popular attractions.During the journey, you will already begin to experience the scenery that makes Cheow Lan Lake special, so the transfer should not be thought of simply as transportation.

During periods when the waterfall route is not suitable or safe, Prakay Petch Cave may be the better option.Rather than forcing a fixed itinerary regardless of conditions, the route is selected according to what is most appropriate on the day.This makes the programme more practical and safer, while still ensuring that Day 2 remains a meaningful nature experience.

A morning safari should therefore be understood as an opportunity to observe the forest carefully rather than a guaranteed animal-viewing activity.Some mornings may produce several sightings. On another day, the most memorable experience may be mist over the lake, gibbon calls in the distance or hornbills crossing above the canopy.
